On 10 January 2026, Kek Lok Si Charitable Hospital marked a meaningful milestone with the official opening of our New Medical & Cardiology Wing. This expansion represents another important step forward in our journey to enhance healthcare services and better serve the community.

What’s Inside the New Medical & Cardiology Wing:

• MRI & DEXA for Bone Density Scan

• Five Additional Specialist Clinics

• Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory

With the completion and operation of this new wing, we are further expanding our service capacity to meet the growing healthcare needs of the community. These facilities support more timely, coordinated and comprehensive care, enabling our medical teams to manage a wider range of medical conditions and to support patients throughout their care journey.

As the only hospital serving the Air Itam, Farlim, and Paya Terubong areas, we understand how critical it is for essential and life-saving medical services to be available close to home. This is particularly critical in emergency and acute cardiac cases, where early assessment and prompt treatment during the golden window can make a life-saving difference.

During the opening ceremony, our Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Thor Teong Gee, delivered a speech on behalf of Venerable Jit Heng, Chairman of the Board of Yayasan Kek Lok Si. In his address, Dr. Thor shared our future development plans, which include preparations for a 250-bed hospital featuring an Oncology Department, expanded specialist services, and more advanced medical equipment to further enhance patient care.
